Our summer project for 2014 was to replace the front lawn with gravel paths and planer boxes. We get great sun, and wanted to try growing some fruit and vegetables. We had a couple trees removed, and Jamie took out the big bushes next to the front stairs. Then he got rid of the lawn, and we measured and mapped out where we wanted the planter boxes to go. With multiple trips to the quarry for rocks and the garden center for dirt, we got the new front yard in shape. Then we started planting new flowers, bushes, fruit, and vegetables. Since then we’ve enjoyed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kale, and lettuce fresh from our garden.
